Kundapura, Sep 10: “Teaching profession is the most noble job in a society. Teachers gain respect because of their profession. Behind the success of a man, selfless service of a teacher is always there. Even children have more faith in teachers than their parents,” said justice Abdul Rahim Hussain Sheikh, judge of additional district and sessions court.

Justice Sheikh was speaking at the Teachers’ Day celebration that was held at Koteshwara Saraswati Kalyana Mantapa.

Justice Sheikh further said, “A child confides in his or her teachers certain issues that cannot be conveyed to its parents. So the teachers should develop the habit of conversing with the student personally at least once a month. This will bring about many changes in the students and their families.”

S V Nagaraja, taluk president of SDMC Samanvaya Vedike presided over the function. Entrepreneur Krishnamurthy Manja was felicitated during the occasion.

Guruvandana was offered to retired teacher Nadoor Vishwanatha Shetty, who is still serving even after retirement. Shankara Aithala Amasebailu was conferred the award of rural schools development achiever.

Group resource persons of educational department who are serving in schools with zero teachers Nagaraja Shetty, Prabhakar Shetty, Parimala Avabratha, Ashalatha and Preethesh Kumar were felicitated.

Retired judge Raju N, retired head teacher Mahabala Shetty, retired bank official Dinesh, director of Padi Mangaluru Renny, Prakash Acharya, Shobha Bhaskar, Avaneesh Holla, Balakrishna Poojary, Prakash Kotian, Pramoda Shetty and Raghavendra were present.

Prayers were offered in the beginning by Krishnanda Shanubhogue. Ashwath Kumar welcomed the gathering. Abdul Salam did the introductory speech. Deepa Mahesh rendered the vote of thanks. Rajshekhar compered the event.
