The commissioner said that the girl was picked up by excise officials at around 6.50 am on September 1 for unusual behaviour.

While the girl was being taken to hospital by the excise officials, she tried to assault the excise officials. Hence, she was taken to east police station.

The police commissioner said that the girl displayed unnatural and attacking behaviour so the women police officials had to beat her. Later she was taken to the hospital.

The police commissioner also said that the drug test turned negative and the girl was handed over to her parents. Investigation is on to know the reason behind the violent behaviour of the girl.

The matter was brought to the notice of president of KSCPCR and he has got information over phone from the city police commissioner as well as from the east police station personnel. President Naganna said that suo moto case will be filed against the excise and police officials if the girl is a minor.

Naganna also said that the way in which the police handled the case, it seems that the personnel did not have proper training. He said that he will organize training through legal cell.

Naganna said, “More time should have been given to the girl for her to calm down and she should have been advised. Forcible actions will lead to mental pressure and fear in the person and may take more serious turns.”
