Karkala: Hussein Murder – Three More Held

Karkala, Aug 13: Relating to the abduction and murder of taxi owner and driver, Hussein (52), a native of Kabettu here some days back, the policemen have succeeded in arresting three more accused. They are Abdul Sattar, Ansaar, and Amjad. They were taken into custody from the house of Abdul Sattar, one of the accused, located at Kaup. These arrests were made on Thursday August 11, it is gathered. With this, seven out of the nine accused in the case stand arrested.

In this case, apart from the vehicle and mortal remains of Hussein, weapons used for the crime and also a Scorpio vehicle and a motor bike have been taken into possession by the policemen.

The police are on the look out for the other two accused, Sikandar, as well as Sulaiman, who has also been named as an accused in the murder of Candle Santu near Mangalore.

Udupi district superintendent of police, Dr Y S Ravikumar, has appreciated the quick progress achieved in the case because of the good efforts put in by Karkala deputy superintendent of police, Santosh Kumar, circle inspector, Vijaya Prasad, police sub-inspectors, Pramod Kumar P and Ravi B S, apart from other subordinate police personnel.
