Celebrated Drummer, Shivamani, To Settle in Udupi?

Udupi, Aug 13: If sources are to be believed, Shivamani, an internationally famous drummer, will settle down in the district. It is gathered that he plans to open a music school here and live here, and that Paryaya Sri Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt, with whom the celebrated artiste has great liaison since the last two decades, has agreed to provide five acres of land for the project at Shirur.

Shivamani has earned name and fame not only in the country, but also in various countries. He has been mesmerizing the audience with his magical fingers. Apart from playing drums for scores of movies for popular numbers, he was also seen playing drums during the IPL tournament, as a supporter of Chennai Super Kings team.

The above musical school will provide expert coaching for playing guitar, violin, key board, and other instruments. Shirur Swamiji is confident that Shivamani will take a decision to settle down here. Shivamani is scheduled to visit the town on August 22 to perform at the Vittal Pindi programme, and is likely to finalise his plans then.
