He was speaking to reporters after his visit to Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala here.

Gowda said that problems faced by people when they visit government offices on work will be studied and laws pertaining to some of the procedures will be simplified. "For this, a team of senior officers in all departments will be set up and they will send a report within 15 days to me and to the chief secretary of the state government. Laws are there to help people, not to trouble them," the CM said.

He said he will prioritise development of roads, housing, power and agriculture during his stint. "My aim is to simplify governance and to respect every common person in the state," he asserted.

In the next phase of the cabinet expansion, seven ministers will be included. On August 15 Dharmendra Pradhan will arrive in Bangalore and hold meetings with former CM Yeddyurappa, BJP state president Eshwarappa and ministers Jagadish Shettar and R Ashok, he said.
