Mangalore: Annual Day Celebration of Prison Ministry Held

Mangalore, Aug 14:  The members of Prison Ministry (the national voluntary organization working for the release, renewal and rehabilitation of prisoners as well as women in distress) celebrated their Annual Day at District Sub-Jail here on Saturday August 13.

Fr Christopher Furtado, retired Bishop of CSI Church was the chief guest and in his address appreciated the humanitarian service rendered by PMI especially to the prisoners in providing them value education, counseling, legal help and so on.

Sr Wilma, the headmistress of Jerosa School was the chief guest. Children from Jerosa School entertained the inmates with a variety of cultural programmes. Fr Walter D’Souza, OCD the coordinator of PMI welcomed the gathering. P S Ambekar the head of the District Jail was present. Jane Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks.
