Mangalore: Sangathya Visual Art Academy to Boost Talents in City

Sangathya Visual Art Academy was inaugurated at GMI Art Gallery in Souza Arcade, Balmatta here on Sunday August 14 at 10.30 am.

Savitha Chowta, vice-president, Rajalaxmi Education Trust, in her inaugural address said that Sangathya Visual Art Academy is a platform for talented artists and will provide a new dimension to the art works in coastal district.

D K Chowta, renowned writer and artist, Bangalore inaugurated the ‘Rekha Sangathya Camp’ organised in fond memory of Padmashree, Padma Bhushan K K Hebbar, a noted Indian painter on his birth centenary celebrations. Chowta said that artists should reach out to the people with their art works by publicising their work. Vivek Sequeira, a well-known creative photographer was the chief guest.
 
N S Pattar, president, Sangathya Visual Art Academy presided. Vice-president Vasanth Rao compered the programme and delivered the vote of thanks. About 55 artists from Mangalore and Udupi took part in the camp.
