Mangalore: Church of Immaculate Conception, Kinnigoli Celebrates Parish Day

Mangalore, Aug 15: The Parish Day Celebrations of the Church of Immaculate Conception, Kinnigoli here was held on Saturday August 14.

The thanksgiving mass was held at 9 am. Fr Vincent Monteiro, director of Pastoral Institute, Bajjodi, was the chief celebrant. Fr Alfred pinto, parish priest, Fr Michael Mascarenhas, assistant parish priest, Fr Victor Pinto, Fr Paul Fernandes were the con- celebrants.

The whole congregation took keen part in the Holy Eucharistic Sacrifice. There was a very meaningful cultural activity soon after the Holy Mass. Variety of programme was given by the Church Wards. The Ward Leaders ( Gurkars) and ward representatives took initiative in the whole programme.

Fr Vincent Monteiro was the chief guest and appreciated the meaningful celebration of the parish day and wished good luck to all the parishioners. A M D’Souza, a well known figure of the parish was falicitated by Mr. Valerian D Souza for his service to the society and was honoured by the parish priest and was garlanded by the assistant parish priest and memento was presented by the vice president.

The parish priest welcomed the gathering and Lionel Pinto, vice president of the parish coucil, proposed the vote of thanks. Valerian Sequeira, secretary, read the annual report. The whole programme was compered by Vincent Crasta and Anita D Souza. The whole programme got over with a sumptuous meal prepared by the people themselves with the help of Thomas, Cook from Bajpe.

    Congratulations and wish a very happy Parish Day. The celebration must have been grand one with such a huge congregation for the Eucharistic Celebration.
