Udupi: Cricket Tourney ‘Bharat Celebration Trophy-2011’ Begins

Udupi, Aug 15:
‘Bharat Celebration Trophy – 2011’, a cricket tournament conducted under the aegis of Brahmavar Sports Club was inaugurated at S M S grounds here on Friday August 13.  The tourney is sponsored by entrepreneur Bharat Kumar Shetty.
 
District Cricket Association secretary Prabhakar Shetty inaugurated the tourney here on Friday morning.



 

Speaking on the occasion, Shetty said that constant efforts are needed to gain success. Brahmavar OSC Education Institutions chairman Fr Ramban G M Scaria presided over the programme.
 
ZP president Katpady Shankar Poojary, TP president Devdas Hebbar, Kurkal Dinakar Shetty, Brahmavar sub-inspector Hosakerappa, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Fisheries Federation president Yashpal Suvarna, and Brahmavar Sports Club president M Sasidar Shetty were the chief guests on the occasion.
 
Club vice-president M Chandrashekar Hegde welcomed the gathering.  Secretary Gregory D’Silva proposed the vote of thanks.  Roshan Kumar Shetty compered the programme.  Twelve teams will participate in the tourney that will conclude on Monday August 15.
