Mangalore: Lourdes Central School Celebrates Independence Day

Mangalore, Aug 16:  Lourdes Central school,bejai celebrated 65th Independence Day here on Monday August 15.

Entrepreneur and philanthropist Leo Rodrigues was the chief guest of the programme. Congratulating the citizens on the auspicious day he urged the students to imbibe and follow the Gandhian values.

Fr Victor Machado in his address said that our country is a vast ocean and we should not bother of any small disturbances that arise. Just as the ocean engulfs any dirt, the problems will be cleansed in a period of time.

The Open Air Stage was inaugurated on the occasion. The stage is a contribution of Leo Rodrigues.

The formal programme was followed by a short cultural programme.

Principal of the school Grace Noronha, Principal Designate Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, PTA president Ivan D’Souza, Lavina Rodrigues among others were present.

Principal Grace Noronha welcomed the gathering, vice principal Joy Rai proposed the vote of thanks.
