Mangaluru: Traffic police fix pothole near Nanthoor circle for smooth traffic flow

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru Sep 22: Video of the city traffic police repairing a pothole has gone viral on social media. The cops filled a dangerous pothole at Nanthoor on Friday September 22.

The potholes on the Nanthoor road are of a major concern which have remained unaddressed from the past several months. Despite bringing the issue the notice of the concerned officials, nothing has been done by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The potholes at Nanthoor have led to several accidents year-by-year. Moreover, traffic congestion at Nanthoor is a daily affair.

The traffic policemen at Nanthoor circle took that initiative to fill a huge pothole at the spot and ensured free movement of vehicles. The thoughtful gesture of the traffic personnel is being widely appreciated by netizens.

Why should the traffic police be expected to take on this role? Repairing road potholes falls squarely within the government's jurisdiction, and it should be their primary responsibility. Additionally, diverting the traffic police from their core duties could lead to compromised road safety.

Contractor has not done a proper job because of 40% to be given to the politicians. If the job was done properly as per specifications there was no need for anybody to fill the pot holes. This is the sad story of India from top to bottom.

Extremely praiseworthy work by the traffic police. At the same time, it's such a shame on the so called smart city corporation and the local corrupt corporator of the area.
