Kasargod: Acid Attack – Victim Dies at Hospital

Kasargod, Aug 17: Nafisat Misriya (27), second wife of Abdul Rahman and resident of Uppala Hidayatnagar, succumbed to injuries sustained in an acid attack. Nafisat and her husband had suffered serious injuries after acid was thrown at them when they were sleeping at their home on the night of Sunday.

The injured were admitted into a private hospital in Mangalore. As per a complaint filed with Manjeswhar police station, Misriya, first wife of Abdul Rahman and a resident of Eriya Barkodu, had thrown the acid at the sleeping couple. Considering the fact that the condition of the ailing couple was precarious, judge of Kasargod first class court, Krishnakumar, had visited them personally to record their statements.

Abdul Rahman had married Nafisat about seven years ago, and she were seven months pregnant.  The attacker is missing. The policemen have launched a hunt to trace her.
