Mangaluru/Canada, Sep 25: Cricket has a way of weaving itself into the hearts of those who are truly passionate about the sport.

For Charles, son of late Casmir Pais and late Cecilia Pais, Beyame Bajpe, immigrated to Canada from Mangaluru, India, in 1975, cricket wasn't just a game; it was a way of life.

His journey with cricket began when he arrived in Montreal to pursue his electrical engineering degree at McGill University. Little did he know that this move would lead to a lifelong commitment to cricket as both a player and an administrator.

A humble beginning

Charles' journey into the world of cricket was not a planned one. It was the sheer love and passion for the sport, running deep in his veins, that drew him closer to it.

He found himself joining the cricket community in Montreal during his studies, where he quickly fell in love with the game. It was more than just a pastime; it was an indisputable connection to his roots and a way to bring people together through the shared love for cricket.

Years of dedication

Fast forward to the present day, and Charles has dedicated a staggering 45 years to the Quebec Cricket Federation (QCF), where he has held pivotal positions such as president and treasurer.

His enduring commitment to the QCF has been instrumental in shaping the organisation and fostering the growth of cricket within the province. As the president of QCF today, Charles continues to lead with unwavering dedication and a vision for the future of cricket in Quebec.

But Charles' contributions to cricket go beyond the provincial level. For the past 17 years, he has been a stalwart member of Cricket Canada, holding the esteemed position of treasurer for almost two decades.

His financial acumen and dedication to transparency have played a pivotal role in the administration and development of Canadian cricket on the national stage. 

Unwavering passion
