Bhatkal Celebrates 65th Independence Day

Bhatkal, Aug 18: Bhatkal witnessed the 65th Independence Day with colourful celebrations across the town.

All schools, colleges, government offices and non-governmental organizations hoisted the Tricolour and remembered the martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the Independence struggle.

The major function was held at police ground which was presided over by Bhatkal MLA J D Naik. BEO Devidas Moger welcomed the gathering while assistant commissioner, Rajiv Moguveer hoisted the Tricolour.

On this occasion students presented colourful cultural programmes and took part in a grand parade.
