Kundapur, Sep 30: The BJP has faced a setback as BJP members, officially expelled from BJP office on Friday, Anagalli gram panchayat member Prabhakar Bangera and panchayat vice president Udaya Poojary joined Congress party in a meeting held at Herikudru on Saturday.

They joined Congress party in the presence of Congress leaders Dinesh Hegde Molahalli and Vinod Crasta and in the leadership of former gram panchayat president Lawrence D’Souza and member Gangadhar Shetty.

Prabhakar Bangera said that the BJP has become a broken house and a nest of confusion without a leader after the political retirement of Haladi Srinivas Shetty.

Rural Congress president Gangadhar Shetty Herikudru said that Congress has conducted administration in Herikudru gram panchayat for the last 35 year without giving a room for a black spot. “We will make this a BJP-free gram panchayat in the future,” he said.

Dinesh Hegde Molahalli handed over Congress shawl and party flag to the two who joined the party and welcomed them.
