Kundapur, Oct 2: The district administration is taking touch stance on the protest of truck owners, who have parked their vehicles by the side of the road for the past four days demanding to allow transportation of building materials. The police department issued notice to the truck owners to call off the bandh.

In the midst of this, it is said that the protesters have warned of bandh in the whole district of Udupi by truck owners. However, police department has warned of legal action if the protest is held throughout the district.

The protesters seemed to have cooled down due to the warning given by the police and now defending themselves saying that the police have served notice on them without any reason.

Speaking on the subject, Sudhir Kumar Malyadi, said, “We are carrying out a peaceful protest. We have not given call for district bandh. We are fighting for our rights. But police have issued notice on us and our vehicles. This is a tactic to force us to withdraw our protest.”

Bandhs are illegal !!!! Let them continue to protest but public and businesses should not be inconvenienced with their actions.
