Mangalore: Rains Remain Buoyant In Spite of Sunny Weather

Mangalore, Aug 20: Most of the places in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts experienced good rains during the day on Friday August 19. There were lots of sunny patches in between.  However, the rains turned stronger in the evening and remained so during the night.

Fallen trees affecting traffic and damaged roads making it harder for the vehicles to move, have become the order of the day in coastal Karnataka. No damage to lives or property due to rain was reported on Friday.

Gokarna in Uttara Kannada received 16 cms of rain, while other places on the coast got an average of five to six cms of rainfall. The meteorological department has predicted heavy rains during the next two days in most of the places in the coastal belt and some more in the hinterland.
