Kasargod: Car mows down student crossing road, citizens protest with body

Kasargod, Oct 8: A devastating accident took the life of a young student who had been seriously injured after being struck by a car while crossing the road. Despite being admitted to Mangalore Hospital and receiving medical treatment, the student did not respond and passed away.

The victim has been identified as Sumanth (17), the son of Raghunath Alva, a resident of Kolakeguthu, Udyavara, Manjeshwar. Sumanth was a first-year PUC student at Nitte College.

The tragic incident occurred when Sumanth was attempting to cross the road near Udyavar Mada road on the National Highway on a Saturday evening. He was struck by a speeding Innova car, which was traveling from Mangaluru to Kasargod.

The collision took place as Sumanth was returning home from college. A case regarding the incident has been registered at the Manjeshwar police station.

In response to this tragic incident, where a young student lost his life in a car accident, citizens held a protest by placing Sumanth's body on the national highway, expressing their deep grief and anger.
