Mangaluru, Oct 10: A fishing boat caught fire on the Tuesday at the old fishing port at Bunder in the city.

Giving details of the incident, a fire service officer said, “We received information that a boat has caught fire at around 4.50 am at the old Bunder port. We immediately rushed to the spot and doused the fire. Diesel of the boat had caught fire. The boat was anchored at the port. As soon as fire erupted, its rope was loosened and the boat was let free to float. This prevented the fire from spreading to other anchored boats.”
