Bantwal, Oct 10: Farmers protested vehemently against a company which kept them in dark in a bid to take over their valuable land at Vittal on Tuesday October 10.

The farmers of Bairikatte in Punacha village of the district obstructed the work of 400 KV high tension wire work that goes from Nandikoor to Kasargod without informing them and holding any face to face interaction.

Former MLA of Puttur Sanjeeva Matandoor rushed to the spot and contacted the deputy commissioner (DC) and asked to stop the work immediately. He also urged the DC to call a meeting of the farmers of this area and discuss the matter. The DC, who responded positively to the matter, asked Bantwal tahsildar to stop the work immediately.
