Udupi: Lifeguard at Barkur Bennekudru, Jaya Bangera passes away

Udupi, Oct 10: Udupi Barkur Bennekudru resident Jaya Bangera (59) passed away due to heart attack. He experienced severe chest pain while fishing at Malpe and was rushed to Manipal hospital. But he passed away at the Manipal hospital on Monday evening. He has left behind his wife, a daughter and a large number of friends and relatives.

Bangera was a lifeguard. He was identified as a rescuer as he used to rescue people who fell in the well here. He was the president of Mogaveera gram sabha. He was into fishing and was a diving expert. He also used to lead the local procession of Ganapathi idol.

He was also active in motoring boats for Barkur Kulamahastri Amma temple and was a well-known personality.
