Bengaluru, Oct 11: "Dasara is a festival of my native place and the entire Karnataka. I used to watch the Dasara procession and festivities by sitting on the shoulders of my fathers in my childhood. I am happy to attend it as the State's Chief Minister," remarked Siddaramaiah after formally accepting an invitation to the Dasara celebrations from a delegation headed by Mysuru district in-charge minister Dr H C Mahadevappa.

The Chief Minister received the invitation for the world-famous Dasara festival from a delegation that included Mysuru Mayor Shivakumar, legislators Ravishankar and A R Krishnamurthy, Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K M Gayatri, Mysuru Police Commissioner Ramesh Banot, Additional Deputy Commissioner P Shivaraju, and others.

Later, the Chief Minister released a book titled "Media of the Millennium," with Koppal University Vice Chancellor Dr B K Ravi as the Editor, and he emphasized that the media must become a bridge fostering communal and social harmony between the government and society.

Siddaramaiah stressed that the media must uphold constitutional values and protect the Constitution, as it is the bulwark of freedom of expression. He also encouraged the media to prioritize the lives of the people.

Following this, a delegation led by Chief Minister's Medical Advisor N Ravikumar met with Siddaramaiah. Dr. Siddamallikarjuna Swamy of Talakadu Hastikeri Math also visited the Chief Minister, and a book was released on the occasion.
