Sonakshi Agrees to Dance for Item Number in Joker

Mumbai, Aug 23: After riding high on the success of ‘Dabangg’, actress Sonakshi Sinha has now singed in for an item number in Shirish Kunder’s movie ‘Joker’.

But the actress does not believe in using the term ‘item number’ on a dance number. With earlier weight issues, Sonakshi is all set to surprise her audience with her item nay dance number!

Sonakshi had earlier announced that she is not open to the idea of an item number. Perhaps the fact that film maker Shirish Kunder’s wife was the main woman responsible behind the hottest dance numbers of the year – ‘Munni’ and ‘Sheila’ has got the ‘Dabangg’ lady to change her mind.

Sources say, "This item number was recorded many months back but the hunt was on for the item girl. Though there was no one in particular who was sent any feelers since there are still a few more days to go before the song goes on floors, Shirish started looking at Sonakshi as a big option that was available right in front of them. She has anyways done quite well in another song from the film, 'Dance Kar Le English Mein', where she has gyrated to a 'desi' tune and impressed everyone with her moves. Shirish and Farah felt that it would be good to continue the momentum by making their leading lady do the item number".
