Mangalore, Aug 25: SDM Law College student council for the new academic year was inaugurated at the College campus here on Thursday August 25.
The programme was inaugurated by inpector general of police (western range) Alok Mohan, who said on the occasion that a student council's success lies not only in the hands of the elected members but in the collective effort put in by other students as well. It is not enough to just foster dreams, but one should also take appropriate actions to realize those dreams too, he said.
The oath was administered by staff adviser Taranath.
Principal district and sessions judge of DK H R Deshpande presided over the programme. In his address, he said that students should inculcate a postive attitude and learn to prioritise things. He urged the students to face their problems bravely and intelligently, which will in turn help in building one's confidence and contribute to inculcating a positive frame of mind.
Student council secretary Aurelia Jessica Menezes proposed the vote of thanks. Greeshma Rai compered.
Cultural programmes were staged on the occasion, which delighted the students.
