Udupi: Puttige Paryaya celebration – Hore Kanike committee holds meeting

Udupi, Nov 6: Meeting of Horekanike committee of the Paryaya celebration which will be held in January 2024 was held at the auditorium of the math on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Baikadi Suprasad Shetty, convenor of Horekanike committee, said, “It is decided to hold the Horekanike procession in a grand manner to celebrate the Paryaya Mahotsav of Puttige Sree. We will form committees in 50 areas. Guidance is given by holding meetings at various places to conduct the Horekanike procession in a proper manner. Puttige Sree has founded maths in overseas countries and have taken our religion and culture to other countries. So this is a world class Paryaya.”

Chief secretary of the committee Belapu Deviprasad Shetty said, “Cooperatives of both districts have joined together and appealed to give Horekanike in a nice manner. Information is relayed to various organizations and all information is also given about the Horekanike procession. It will be held like a Nada Habba. It is decided to hold a meeting with DC in order to know the responsibilities that the government will shoulder.”

K Ramana Upadhyaya, Krishnamurthy Acharya, Amrita Krishnamurthy, Yogish Shetty, Andaru Deviprasad Shetty, Manjunatha Upadhya, Srikant Nayak, Shashikant Padubidri, Jyoti Devadiga, Padma, Srikant, Uday, Krishna, Bhaskar, Raghavendra, Hegde, Raghavendra and others were present.
