Kasargod, Nov 13: the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh Ukkinadka unit organised Kasargod deanery level volleyball and throwball tournaments on Sunday, November 12 at Sacred Heart of Jesus church ground from 10:30 am.

The programme began with an inaugural speech by the chief guest Fr Sunil Miranda, parish priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Ukkinadka. He encouraged the Catholic Sabha for their selfless service to church and the main aim of this tournament was to bring unity and to encourage their talents.

The guests of honour were Raju John D’Souza, president of Kasargod Catholic Sabha unit, Joel Monteiro, vice president of Ukkinadka Church, Sarini Crasta, secretary of Ukkinadka Church, Elias D’Souza, president of Ukkinadka Catholic Sabha unit, Francis Monteiro, treasurer of Mangalore Catholic Sabha unit, Jossy Crasta, secretary of Kasargod Catholic Sabha unit. Master of ceremony was Amith D’Souza, welcome speech was delivered by Neeta Crasta and thanksgiving speech by Sandya D’Souza.

The volleyball tournament showcased incredible athleticism and teamwork. The 12 teams from different parishes displayed exceptional skills and spirit throughout the tournament. After intense matches between 12 teams, the finals were between Bela and Talapady. Talapady volleyball team emerged as the champions, showcasing their dominance in the sport.

In the throwball competition, the level of enthusiasm and sportsmanship was equally high. The 10 teams from different parishes exhibited outstanding coordination and determination. After a series of closely contested matches, the final matches were between Ukkinadka and Talapady. Ukkinadka throwball team emerged victorious, earning the title of champions.

The prizes were distributed by the chief guest and guest of honors. To encourage their teams, a large crowd was gathered. Catholic Sabha Ukkinadka unit organized the event beautifully and memorably.
