Kundapur, Nov 15: In response to the devastating fire incident involving approximately eight fishing boats in the Gangolli area on Monday, Shivamogga MP B Y Raghavendra, Kundapur MLA Gopal Poojary, and BJP mandal president Deepak Kumar Shetty met chief minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

In the tragic boat fire, Rs 10 crores in losses were estimated, severely impacting the livelihoods of the fishermen who depend on the river. The delegation urged the chief minister to provide a relief package of Rs 10 crores to support the affected fishermen in rebuilding their lives.

Expressing their concern over the incident, the delegation emphasized the importance of swift and substantial assistance to the affected families and the fishing community. The chief minister assured them that the government would take necessary measures to provide relief to the victims.

The MP and legislators stressed the urgency of releasing insurance compensation promptly and emphasized that the government should extend its support to the affected fishermen during this difficult time. They pledged to make sincere efforts to secure additional relief from the government for the affected families.
