Mumbai, Sep 4 (IANS): Operations at Mumbai airport's main runway, stalled since Friday morning when a Turkish Airlines plane skidded off the runway and got stuck in mud, are to begin Sunday, an official said.
Normal operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) were severely hampered as the aircraft remained stuck since the Friday morning incident. All 104 passengers, including 11 crew members, were safe.
Officials said that continuous downpour in Mumbai and surroundings areas further hampered the operations to retrieve the aircraft, launched Friday evening.
National carrier Air India was helping remove the stranded aircraft and clear the runway for flight operations.
All normal flight operations were shifted to the secondary runway. The Turkish Airlines had attributed the incident to ?excessive rainfall.?
