Karkala resident falls victim to scam, loses Rs 1,43,001 in online job fraud

Karkala, Dec 25: A woman fell prey to fraudulent tactics, resulting in a loss of Rs 1,43,001.

The victim of an online job scam, Rajini, is a resident of Karkala. The perpetrators, reaching out to her via the Telegram app, presented a trading link and offered an enticing online job opportunity.

Trusting the offer, Rajini completed one of the tasks, only to have the fraudsters systematically transfer a total of Rs 1,43,001 from her account to bank accounts they specified.

Subsequently, she filed a police complaint, leading to the registration of a case at the CEN police station.

    Shows how gullible our software are - can easily be hacked by any Tom Dick or Harry. Whether you install Fire Wall or anything. These hoax links are very well known by the Ministry and they are a part and parcel of this nexus. But they aren't bothered to counter attack this. They know the source but won't bother to take remedial measures since they are also getting some potential kickbacks. Give and take.
