Uttar Pradesh, Dec 29: The story of Ghanshyam Meena and Anita Yadav is a thrilling one as both met during UPSC preparations, fell in love, and got married. After marriage, Ghanshyam completed his IAS and then inspired his wife Anita also to become an IAS officer.

Ghanshyam, an IAS officer of 2015 batch serves as the municipal commissioner of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh at present. His wife Anita Yadav completed her IAS in 2017 and she works in Ayodhya as a development officer.

Ghanshyam was born into a family which always stressed on education. His father was additional commissioner and had seven children. All of them were brilliant in studies. Ghanshyam did his engineering from BITS Pilani in 2009. Soon after he graduated the world economy was hit due to recession and jobs were hard to come by. Instead of worrying over employment, Ghanshyam decided to take the UPSC examination.

Ghanshyam went to Delhi from UP to prepare for UPSC. He filled out a PCS form of Rajasthan and had to go to Jodhpur for interview preparation. He met Anita at Jodhpur who was also preparing for UPSC.

Both Anita and Ghanshyam decided to attempt UPSC together. Though Anita cleared the prelims in 2013 she could not pass the mains in her first attempt. The constant support and encouragement of Ghanshyam made her continue with her effort and she got through Rajasthan PCS cadre in 2014.

Anita and Ghanshyam had a tough time managing their jobs and devoting time for studies of UPSC. Ghanshyam worked on a strategy which finally gave him success in 2014 and he cleared the Rajasthan PCS in 2014.

With Ghanshyam inspiring Anita, she came out successfully in the 2015 mains but did not succeed in the interview. Her interview was on December 8, 2015 and her marriage with Ghanshyam was held on November 22. Though Anita could not get through the interview in 2015, the couple gave priority to the IAS preparations of Anita and she eventually cracked the UPSC in 2017 and got All India Rank of 350.

Ghanshyam says that complete concentration, honesty, hard work and group studies are the key to succeed in UPSC.

Good, congrats to them...But what Mangalore needs at the moment is tech entrepreneurship. Please post success stories of tech entrepreneurship who actually change the world...these IAS officers cannot do much to the development of their posted location. Maximum they do is bow down to politicians, take their salary or maybe "bahar ki kamai" and get retire at 60 age. Mangalore youths are 24/7 worried about finding a small job or flying to other nation or other religious factors. The number of tech startups rising from Mangalore is very very low. Mangalore already has a large number of actors, actress and some reliaty show participants. but they cant get any progress to Mangalore or tulunadu. Mangalore needs people like Elon musk, narayanmurthy and startups like Zoho, zomato, Paytm etc etc..which can create employment and economy
