Mangaluru, Dec 30: Police commissioner Anupam Agarwal has outlined guidelines for the New Year celebration in Mangaluru, emphasizing the police's commitment to maintaining peace in the city. Patrolling will be conducted in popular areas such as beaches, clubs, and other locations until midnight.

In a media address on December 30, Agarwal shared, "There are approximately 36 indoor events in the city, and we have issued guidelines for places like churches, beaches, and parks where celebrations are taking place. Programmes should conclude by 12:30 pm, and if there is music, it should stop by 10:30 pm. To prevent any mishaps, we have implemented plans, including patrolling near beach areas until midnight. Multiple patrols will ensure peace everywhere."

Agarwal highlighted the setup of checkpoints, specifically for tackling drink and drive cases, equipped with breathalyzers. Offenders will be arrested immediately. Celebrations near beach areas can continue until 10:30, with police presence, lighting facilities, and lifeguards for emergencies. The police will also ensure no moral policing occurs, and individuals can contact them directly in case of incidents. Four special teams are actively working to apprehend drug peddlers and consumers.

Agarwal assured zero tolerance for moral policing, and appropriate actions will be taken against offenders, who will be marked in the rowdy sheet.

Responding to questions, Agarwal stated that the guidelines issued align with government directives. The implementation of no-horn zones has been effective, and efforts are ongoing to prevent moral policing in Mangaluru. Celebrations are encouraged within the specified time, and strict actions will be taken against those violating the guidelines.

DCPs Siddharth Goel and Dinesh Kumar P K were also present.

what an irony? the most educated districts of karu naadu are not allowed to celebrate beyond 12 mid night...no restrictions in Bengaluru and other major cities...and of course all over the country no such restrictions...this clearly shows how the nagpur gulams have infested these districts and have divided the society and minds of people.
