Udupi, May 13: The rider and pillion of a Bullet bike, which was traveling from Mangaluru to Udupi, sustained injuries on Sunday evening when their two-wheeler collided with a roadside signboard at Ermalu Tenka.

The injured duo, Rider Nutan and Pillion Srijan, both hailing from Mandya, were on a journey with six friends who work at a company in Bidadi near Bengaluru. They had departed from Bengaluru on Saturday around 3 pm to visit pilgrimage centers in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. They arrived at Dharmasthala at midnight on Saturday, and after seeking Darshan at the Lord Manjunatha temple, they proceeded to visit Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari temple. It was during their journey to Udupi that the accident occurred.

The impact of the collision threw both the rider and pillion several feet away. Nutan sustained a grievous leg injury, while Srijan suffered injuries to the head, ear, and face. Local residents assisted in transporting them to the hospital for treatment.
