HJC's Bishnoi Leads in Hisar, Congress Trails


Hisar (Haryana), Oct 17 (IANS): Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi of the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) got an early lead while the Congress' Jai Prakash was trailing in third position as counting began Monday for the parliamentary by-election in Hisar.

Ajay Singh Chautala of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) was in second position in the election that has been under the spotlight after Anna Hazare and his team stepped in to ask people to vote against the Congress.

The death of Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) leader and former chief minister Bhajan Lal necessitated the by-election that was held Oct 13 and witnessed 70 percent polling.

Results will be announced by Monday afternoon.
