I am Not Winning Because of Anna: HJC Candidate

Hisar (Haryana), Oct 17 (IANS): As he raced towards victory in the Hisar Lok Sabha by-election, Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) candidate Kuldeep Bishnoi said Monday that he owed nothing to Team Anna.

"I attribute it only to my father and the (alliance with) BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)," Bishnoi told reporters here, as officials placed him on the victory lap with a lead of 32,000 votes over his nearest rival.

By the time Team Anna began campaigning in Hisar against the Congress for its refusal to back the Jan Lokpal Bill, people had decided to vote for him, he said.

Bishnoi, son of former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal, added that he respected anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare and would vote for the Jan Lokpal Bill in parliament.

    if Anna's appeal worked here there should be big lead.Even one Assembly constituency has more than hundred thousand voters.However, Anna's appeal may helped Bishnoi to make it Parliament.Bajan Lal (his father and former CM of Hariyana)also contributed for his success.

    "First Blood By BJP" - Plenty more to come. All of them are corrupt but atleast we can try a different Govn. for a Change.. NDA might take decisive actions compared to UPA. Hope for the BEST, JAI HIND

    Absolutely Correct. Anna never campaigned for you. He capaigned against congress. Those who understood Anna's request had option to vote to any other candidate.
