Hisar wasn't a Congress Seat, Tweets Omar

Srinagar, Oct 17 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday tweeted that Hisar wasn't a Congress seat and Team Anna should have campaigned against the party in a region where it had a stronger standing.

"Does anyone else think Team Anna should have chosen a seat Congress was sure to win and then tested their ability to manipulate the result," he posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"Hisar wasn't a Cong seat so its hardly indicative of anything in the scheme of things," he added.

Anna Hazare's supporters had campaigned in Haryana's Hisar town and asked the people not to vote for the Congress as it did not support the Jan Lokpal bill.

Haryana Janhit Congress' Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi won the Hisar parliamentary by-election Monday, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) was number two and the state's ruling Congress was a distant third.
