Mangaluru: International Yoga Day celebrated at Carmel School, Kotekar

Mangaluru, Jun 22: Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School, CBSE Kotekar observed The International Yoga Day on June 21, to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. Yoga is a practice that plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune systems.

The event was graced by the presence of vice principal Sr Anitha and coordinated by Sr Ashwina, Sr Ashwina, in her message, highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into our daily lives. She emphasized that yoga should not be limited to a single day of celebration but practiced every day for its numerous benefits. Yoga enhances memory, relaxes the mind, helps balance various aspects of life, and keeps one active and healthy.

The programme was skillfully compered by Risharya and Kangna, began with a warm welcome and introduction by Kangna. Throughout the event, participants performed various asanas, including Anjaneyasana, Veerabadrasana, Natarajasana, Urdhva Namaskarasana, Trikonasana, Skandasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Balasana, and Parvathasana. The significance of each asana was explained, underscoring the holistic benefits of yoga.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Risharya, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. This celebration not only marked the significance of International Yoga Day but also inspired everyone to embrace yoga as a part of their daily routine for a healthier and balanced life.
