Mangaluru, Jul 8: In light of the increasing dengue cases across the district, an awareness programme was conducted under the leadership of Manjula Nayak. The initiative involved educating the public about dengue by visiting each house in the Dongerkery ward, Mangaluru, on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Manjula Nayak said, "The spread of dengue can be prevented by keeping our surroundings clean and giving priority to cleanliness, along with using mosquito repellents. All measures should be taken to control the rise in dengue cases, and creating awareness about cleanliness is crucial. Parents should be educated with the help of students."
She further added, "Do not neglect any symptoms; awareness should be raised about taking precautions without causing unnecessary fear and anxiety. Let us make students and the public aware of the importance of consulting a doctor at the initial stage of dengue symptoms or whenever fever appears. Achieving a dengue-free Dongerkery is our main priority."
During the programme, information was provided regarding dengue, its symptoms, diseases caused by mosquito bites, and precautionary measures.
The awareness event was attended by Jacinta, Sanjana Chalawadi, Vidya Shenai, B K Chandranna, Sangappa Bhadkanna, Manju Maddi, and others.
