Mangalore: Joyous Rajyotsava Celebrations Underline Richness of Culture

Mangalore, Nov 1: Students of various schools, officers of various government departments, administrators, political leaders and people in general thronged Nehru Maidan on Tuesday November 1 to express their solidarity towards the state language Kannada, on the occasion of Rajyotsava.

A procession jointly organized by DK district Kannada Sahithya Parishad and district administration taken out from Dr B R Ambedkar circle to Nehru Maidan reverberated with a festive mood as various tableaux depicted richness of  Kannada and culture of the land.

District in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar hoisted the flag and received the salute from civil police, NCC army senior wing, army juniors, traffic police, home guards, district armed reserve and the police band among other troupe. Vittal Sindhe, reserve sub-inspector, parade commandant led the parade.

Addressing the gathering, Palemar said that chief minister's special grant has been sanctioned for 121 projects in the second phase for Mangalore’s development. Among them, 37 projects have already got the order to initiate the work.

Listing out some of the other works undertaken by the admnistration, he said that a new private bus stand near Pumpwell will be constructed soon. Rs 235 lac will be released for Sultan Battery-Tannir Bavi suspension bridge, and the sea shore too will be developed in the near future. Environment-friendly decisions such as solid waste management, ban on use of plastic below 40 micron are being executed, he added.

Wishing every citizen of the district a joyous 56th Kannada Rajyotsava, Palemar said that Kannada bagged the 8th Jnanpith with Kannadiga Dr Chandrashekar Kambara winning the coveted award. It is nothing but a fitting example and proof of the prosperity of Kannada language, he opined.

He congratulated district Rajyotsava awardees in various fields who were felicitated on the occasion.
 
Forty-five people from the district received the Dakshina Kannada Rajyotsava Award-2011 on the occasion. Also, district-level special talent awards 2011-12 sponsored by Women and Children development department were conferred on Neha B, Shubham Varnekar, Vaishnavi Ballal, K N Bharath Rao, Shalon Johnapas, Ananthram U R, Hasta R Aithal and Chinmaya.

Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, SP Laburam, DC Dr Chennappa Gowda, ZP CEO Dr Vijayprakash, district Sahitya Parishad president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, MLA U T Khader, Dy Speaker Yogish Bhat, ZP president K T Shailaja Bhat, MLA Abhayachandra Jain among others were present. Later a cultural programme was presented by school children.

DC affixes his signature: Though a press statement released by the DC had stated that he would not affix his signature on the citation, on Tuesday when the awards were handed over to the award winners it was found that the DC had indeed affixed it.

    Were the richness photos shown in this article for Karnataka In Kerala news i have read the richness of Vijaynagar emperor when treasure in padmaswamy temple secret valet was open around 100,000.00 crores found 40,000.00 crores valued wealth is part of this king donated from Karantaka to PADMADASA TEMPLE KERALA.     ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಣ್ಮಣಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು.
    ಕೇವಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ದ್ವಜವನ್ನು ಹಾರಿಸಿದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಏಳ್ಗೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಧ್ವನಿ ಎತ್ತಬೇಕು.. ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬರವಣಿಗೆ ಹಾಗು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನ ಇಂದು ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿಯಬೇಕು,
    ಹಾಗು ಇದನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡುವರೆಂಬ ಬೃಹತ್ ಆಸೆ ಇಂದ ನಂಬಿರುತ್ತೇನೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ತುಳಿಯುವುವರನ್ನು ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸಬೇಕು, ವಿರೋಧಿಸಬೇಕು.
