Mangalore: Police Arrest Bike Thief, Recover Stolen Vehicle

Mangalore, Nov 19: Arif (21), a resident of Bantwal, who attempted to escape from the police near Sharbathkatte (KPT-Yeyyady Road) after he stole a bike parked near the old port (dockyard), was arrested by Mangalore East police station crime branch ASI Sukumar on Friday November 18.

Arif was riding a bike at high speed without wearing a helmet. When the police attempted to stop him, he did not pay heed and turned around. Later, the police chased and caught him. On interrogation, he failed to provide any answers to the police and later revealed that it was a stolen bike.
 
The red-colored bike Yamaha RX 135, bearing fake registration number KA 19 K 6785, worth Rs 10,000 has been seized by the police.
 
Police inspector C Kiran along with staff Subramanya, Yashvanth, Veerabhadra, and Prakash Naik took part in the operation.
