Management Institute (TAPMI) kick-started at Manipal here on Saturday November 19.

Being conducted in the international university town of Manipal for the last 18 years Brandscan has gained unparalleled visibility among the biggest brands in the country. BrandScan 2011 boasts of a lofty clientele list. Some of the biggest names in corporate India are participating in the fair. Some of these reputed brands are ITC, Vodafone, Nielsen, Amul and Fastrack. BrandScan 2011 has the privilege of being associated with Vodafone as its principal sponsor. Year 2011 is the year of evolution of new looks BrandScan which was conducted for the first time in the city of Mangalore on November 12 and 13.

At Manipal it was formally inaugurated by the chief guest Devendra Shinde, VP (Marketing), Mahindra 2 Wheelers in the presence of Key Sponsors Vodafone. Dr. Simon George (Dean Academics), Prof K.J. Jaims (Faculty – Co-ordinator Brandscan) were amongst the various faculty members of TAPMI who graced the occasion in the presence of Brandscan’11 Members and students of TAPMI.

Dr. Simon George started by giving a brief insight into the 2 day market research festival BrandScan and traced its evolution over the last 18 years. Prof K.J. Jaims gave a brief introduction about the chief guest and his professional accomplishments over the last 18 years. Chief Guest addressed the gathering by speaking briefly about his successful career & the also shared some of the brand building ideas implemented by his team for the launch of Mahindra 2 Wheelers in the country.

The formal inauguration of Brandscan 2011 at MJC grounds was done thereafter by the chief guest in the presence of various sponsors and faculty members of TAPMI. After the inauguration ceremony, BrandScan 2011 gates were formally thrown open to the audience and visitors. With 15 different projects working simultaneously, the 2 day fair format event is expected to witness footfalls of more than 7000 people over the span of 2 days.

Various events such as Mr.Biker, Rock show, Fashion show, Dance competition, Talent hunt and Painting Competition for children are conducted over the 2 days to draw in more audience from every strata of society living in and around Manipal. The 20000 strong international youth population coupled with 35000 households in and around Manipal will ensure that every project receives the desired number of responses from the required target segment.
