The tempo was moving to Navur from Siddakatte. It was carrying family members and their relatives, who were to attend an engagement function organized at Navur.  The engagement of Umesh from Kakkapadavu was scheduled to be held with a girl from Hebarodi, and people from boy’s side were arriving for the function in two vehicles, when one of them met with an accident. Reportedly, the driver of the tempo lost control over the vehicle, giving rise to the accident.

Ten people, who have sustained grave injuries, are being treated in different hospitals in Mangalore. Luckily, the tempo fell on the right hand side of the road. If it had tilted to the left, the extent of injuries would have been much more, it is being analyzed.

On a complaint filed by Dinesh Poojary, who was travelling by the said vehicle, a case was registered in the local police station.
