Kasargod, Nov 22: A home guard of the local traffic police station was killed in an accident that occurred on national highway in the city on Monday November 21. The accident occurred near KIMS Hospital in Ashwini Nagar in the town.
The deceased has been identified as Jayant (36), son of the late Shivaram and Vilasini couple from Korakkody Chandramoulinagar here. He had reported for duty at the traffic police station in the morning. He was going in his bicycle on duty, when he lost control and fell on the road. A truck carrying fish load moved over his body instantly.
He was shifted to a hospital here immediately with critical injuries. However, he could be saved. Jayant had joined home guard three years back.
A case was registered by the local police station. Investigation has been taken up.
