Udupi, Nov 28: “Healthcare delivery should be equitable and information technology would play a pivotal role in achieving this in a diverse country like India”, said Dr Ruchi Das, the founder and CEO Health cursor Consulting Group.

Dr Ruchi was the chief guest and the key resource person of ‘Insight-2011’, a National Level Workshop on ‘Gaining Strategic Leadership in Healthcare’ organized by Synapse the Healthcare students’ forum of Manipal Institute of Management.



Ganesh Selvaraj, head, Human Resources Manipal Health Enterprises emphasized on the need to re-orient the approach of the healthcare industry. He stated that the healthcare sector has evolved into a customer driven industry and highlighted challenges that are encountered while operating in the healthcare industry.

Dr(Col) R R Pulgaonkar, COO and MS, Kasturba Hospital, presided over the function and Prof Ramakrishna Chadaga, the director of Manipal Institute of Management was also present.

150 delegates from different parts of the country representing medical institutions, hospitals and management institutes took part in the workshop.

Importance and need of cost effectiveness in healthcare, role of IT in healthcare service delivery and marketing of healthcare service were the themes which were deliberated. Dr Sreenivasan Narayana, senior general manager, pricing and product development – Nova Medical Centre and Aditya Codaty, head Innovation and R&D- United Health Group India were the key resource persons of the workshop.

Chris, the president of Healthcare Forum, welcomed the gathering. Raksha introduced the guests, Rishab proposed the vote of thanks and Vani was the master of ceremony.

    My wife and two children and I live in the state of Illinois. Our current health insurance plan is a Choice Plan that is provided by "Penny Medical" . The plan itself is a consumer driven health care plan.
