Udupi: District working journalists association unveils jersey for 'Silver Sports celebration'

Udupi, Oct 19: The Udupi District Working Journalists' Association unveiled the jersey for its annual sports event, 'Silver Sports celebration,' during a ceremony held at Udupi Patrika Bhavan on Saturday, October 19.

The unveiling was conducted by chief guest Prithviraj Shetty, an international cricketer who represented India in the deaf World Cup and currently serves as captain of the Karnataka team.

The jersey features nine different colours, symbolising the participating teams. These jerseys will be distributed to teams from Udupi, Brahmavar, Karkala, Kundapura, Byndoor, Hebri, Kaup, and Manipal.

The event was presided over by Rajesh Shetty Alevoor, president of the Udupi working journalists committee. General secretary Nazir Polya delivered the vote of thanks, while secretary Raheem Ujire compered the programme.

Notable attendees included Udupi District scouts commissioner Janardhan Kodavoor, state committee member Kiran Manjanabail, treasurer Umesh Marpalli, joint secretary of the Silver Jubilee committee Deepak Jain, sports coordinator Raju Kharvi, and Ajith Aradi, coordinator of the Udupi working journalists committee.
