Mumbai, Jan 8: In a significant educational initiative, Adani Electricity and Adani Foundation have jointly implemented a library distribution programme in 74 BMC schools across the P-North and M-West wards of Mumbai. Under this programme, 12,000 books were distributed to Marathi, Hindi, and English medium schools, aiming to enhance students' presentation, articulation, and communication skills through library activities.

"Our goal is to encourage reading and improve students' academic performance and cognitive skills," said a spokesperson from Adani Electricity. The programme will establish reading clubs in schools, offering students access to educational resources that many lacked outside the classroom.

The initiative, part of the Utthan CSR project, is expected to benefit around 25,000 students, bridging the gap for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. "The libraries will also support teachers with additional resources to create engaging lesson plans," said Rajesh Singh, Principal of Kurar 2 Hindi Medium School.

Parents and students welcomed the initiative. "This library will help our children develop a love for reading," said Varsha Khan, parent of a 6th-grade student. Students also expressed enthusiasm, with Pratik Rajkumar from Rani Sati Marg School saying, "I can't wait to read all these books and learn new things."

The project underscores the commitment of Adani Foundation to fostering holistic development and creating valuable learning resources for future generations.
