Mangaluru, Feb 3: The department of commerce organized a session titled ‘The power of digital skills’ on February 3, at St Agnes College (Autonomous) for the 140 students of BCom regular, CMA and professional.
The resource person, Dr Moona Moosa, a physiotherapist, was invited to address the students on the importance of skill enhancement. Dr Moona Moosa delivered an informative session, focusing on career selection, skill enhancement, and digital influence. She emphasized the importance of time relevant career selections and provided advice on how to make smart choices. Additionally, she offered detailed guidance on enhancing skills as a student and shared multiple online resources for skill development courses.
She spoke about the benefits of digital literacy, which enhances job prospects, and discussed how freelancing can help students balance studies while earning. She warned about the impact of AI on jobs, emphasizing the need to continuously upgrade skills. She introduced iDigitalPreneur, a platform offering various skill-based courses, and concluded by reinforcing that skills are the key to landing high-paying jobs.
The session began with a prayer was led by Samantha and group, III BCom CMA. Slaviya, III BCom CMA student emceed the programme, introduced the speaker and proposed the vote of thanks. Vineetha, HOD of the department of commerce and the faculty members presided over the session.
‘The power of digital skills’ was both an informative and motivating session, inspiring students to embrace digital skills for a successful career.
