Mangaluru, Feb 15: The four-day Nirdigantha Utsava, a theatre festival, will be held from February 28 to March 3 at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), as announced by actor Prakash Raj.
Vice-chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Fr Praveen Martis will inaugurate the event, and Purshottam Bilimale will deliver the keynote address.
During the four-day festival, artists, theatre troupes, orators, and notable writers from across the state will converge at Nirdigantha Utsava. Eight new dramas will be staged, along with workshops on pottery, handloom, eco-printing, and basket-making.

Nirdigantha, located on the banks of the Lokapavani River in the village of K Shettyhalli, Srirangapatna, near Mysuru, has emerged as a prominent theatre hub. With the necessary environment and facilities to nurture various creative activities, including theatre, Nirdigantha has been involved in numerous projects such as drama workshops for young theatre artists, performances in various districts, and initiatives like School Theatre and School Theatre Development to integrate education with theatre. National and international conferences on theatre in education are also organized. Additionally, Nirdigantha has designed plays and musical performances that are staged across the country.
