Mangaluru: St Aloysius holds offical launch of ‘TEDxStAloysius 2025’

Mangaluru, Feb 23: The official launch of TEDxStAloysius 2025, themed ‘A Twist of Tales’, was successfully held at L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) on Saturday, February 22.

Giselle Mehta, former IRS officer, author and entrepreneur, and the chief guest of the occasion, inaugurated the event and addressed the gathering, eloquently aligning her address with the event’s theme, ‘A Twist of Tales.’ She emphasized the significance of embracing twists in life that shapes one's journey and help individuals find their spark and passion.

The event was presided over by Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ, rector of St Aloysius Institutions and president of the programme. Other dignitaries on the dias included the vice-chancellor, Dr Praveen Martis SJ, Dr Smitha DK, staff convenor; Giselle Mehta, chief guest; Mithun Boloor, guest of honor; Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar of St Aloysius College (Autonomous); and Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). The speakers who attended the inaugural were Dr Manu Melwyn Joy, Kiran Dembla, Poonam Vaidya, Pavan Joshi, and Wencita Dias.

The list of 8 speakers for TEDxStAloysius 2025 includes Wencita Dias, a Miss Teen World supermodel global and actress, Kiran Dembla, a fitness trainer, bodybuilder, motivational speaker, mountaineer, and DJ, Sadashiv K Shetty, chairman and executive director, Heranba Industries, Dr Yusuf Kumble, founder chairman, Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute, Poonam Vaidya, HR senior analyst, featured in BBC & podcasts, Dr Manu Melwyn Joy, assistant professor, CUSAT, Sanjay Hegde, senior advocate, Supreme Court of India and, Pavan Joshi, founder & conservationist, Adavi Alert Foundation.
