Vidya Balan cautions fans against deepfake video circulating online

Mumbai, Mar 2: Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who was recently seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, has become the latest victim of AI-generated deepfake videos.

Taking to Instagram, Vidya alerted her followers about a fake AI-generated video featuring her that has been widely circulated on social media and WhatsApp.

“There are multiple videos currently circulating on social media and WhatsApp, which appear to feature me. However, I want to clarify that the videos are AI-generated and inauthentic. I have no involvement in its creation or dissemination, nor do I endorse its content in any way. Any claims made in the videos should not be attributed to me, as it does not reflect my views or work,” she wrote in a post.

She further urged fans to be cautious of misleading AI-generated content, emphasizing the importance of verifying information before sharing. "#FakeAlert #StayAware", she added.
Meanwhile, Vidya recently paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary musician M S Subbulakshmi on her 108th birth anniversary. The actress shared a series of pictures on Instagram, where she dressed up as M.S. Subbulakshmi, recreating some of her iconic looks.

For the tribute, Vidya collaborated with costume designer Anu Parthasarathy, showcasing four sarees that the late musician popularised between the 1960s and 1980s, portraying her concert persona.

The actress' tribute received widespread appreciation, with fans praising her for honoring the legendary singer in such a graceful manner.
