Mangaluru, Apr 9: Two youths were killed and another sustained injuries when a motorcycle they were travelling on crashed into an open divider at SKS Junction on National Highway 66 on April 8.

The deceased have been identified as Sankeerth, who was riding the motorcycle bearing registration number KL-58-Q-6381, and Dhanurved C, a pillion rider. Another pillion rider, Sibi Sam, sustained injuries in the accident.

According to the FIR registered at Traffic East Police Station (Crime No. 48/2025) under Sections 281, 125(a), 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 128(a) read with 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, the group of friends had set out from Lohith Nagar towards Pumpwell to have tea.

Rohan Joby, the complainant, along with Meghnath, was riding a separate motorcycle (KL-13-AH-2388), while Sankeerth was riding with Dhanurved and Cibi Sam as pillion riders. As they proceeded towards Pumpwell on NH-66, Sankeerth, allegedly riding negligently, lost control of the motorcycle and collided with the edge of an open divider at SKS Junction around 2.50 am.

The impact threw all three riders onto the highway. Sankeerth and Dhanurved sustained severe head and facial injuries and succumbed to their injuries while being rushed to the hospital. Cibi Sam survived with injuries and is undergoing treatment.

Traffic East police have taken up further investigation.

May thier soul rest in peace. There is absolutely no fear of the law. AI cameras are installed but i don't think the automatic challan system is implemented in Mangalore. Just waste of public money.
